Personal Investigation
For our Personal Investigation project we have to focus on one of five elements:
Colour
Movement
Portrait
Mechanical
Urban Exploration
For this project I have decided to focus on Colour. I have chosen colour as I feel it is the most creative and accessible. Here is a Mindmap on my ideas on Colour for my upcoming project.

Here is another popplet, this time I have decided to focus more on the techniques I could adapt and the equipment that I can use. I have included a wide variety from luminous balloons, spray paint, flares to water splash. I think that for safety reasons I may not choose to use the Spray Paint or Flares.
Moodboard
As you can see my moodboard is a variation of my different ideas, from balloons, spray paint and water splash photography.
Critical Analysis: Fruit Fade
Context:
This image is titled "Fruit Fade". In this image you can see a collection of colours, that transition from one color to another, we can see in the top left hand corner we can see a green fruit that diagonally fades into a dark cherry colour. This maybe a message to us telling us to tell a generation of fast foods and chips, that there is a variety of fruit that can be served up to feed everyone. Content: This piece was created by an American photographer called Emily Blincoe. Blincoe was born and raised in Austin, Texas. This may have influenced the idea of eating fruit and avoiding fast food, as Texas is rather neglected of flashy supermarkets and local meat stalls. Process: I do not think this image has been digitally edited, as it is fairly plain, a colorful array of colours falling back on a white canvas. So, this does not need much (if any) digital editing. Evaluate: I like the idea behind this piece, as the colours compliment each other very well on the white canvas, it also spreads a wider message to the world, a message we've been perhaps been sliding under the carpet in recent times. |
Photoshoot 1
For this first photoshoot I purchased some glow sticks and used some an old glass in order to create the most flamboyant and colourful images possible here are the results:
WWW: I feel like I have been very creative and have used great improvisation with the resources available to me. I think that using the pitch black sky has worked well to my advantage as this gives me the best use of the colours.
EBI: I do however feel like whilst the colours are presented well, there is not much variety in these images, and they are fairly similar.

Photoshoot 2
Here I have used stencils and spray paint in order to capture an image for my photoshoot. This is an image of The Joker, he pulls a dark and canister face, so I have used this image around different locations to highlight the color difference.
WWW: Have gone out of my comfort zone to create a creative and abstract image.
EBI: Use more images, and more locations.
